For those who have been closely following the world’s speed record for the fastest clock speeds for consumer microprocessors, should know that Andre Yang is currently holding the world record by overclocking AMD’s Bulldozer microprocessor. Just recently, Andre did the unimaginable, whereby he devised a rig could churn out a whopping 8.4GHz.
Well, guess what – Andre Yang did it again, whereby he found another 123.3MHz, which pushed his speed record to 8.58GHz. Generally, Andre disclosed that the additional clock speed came by tweaking the onboard voltage, whereby previously he used 1.992v, which was bumped up to 2.076v. Of course, the rig is supported by a liquid nitrogen cooling system, which makes it possible to overclock the microprocessor’s clock speed to excessive speeds, without fearing that the processor would meltdown due to the excessive heat generated from the process. Maybe Andre could further convince someone to loan him some liquid helium that could possible push the clock speed further up to 9GHz?
