GE was hit by one of the worst financial crisis in 2008, when its GE Capital lending unit was plagued severely beaten by the economic turmoil. In fact, GE did the unthinkable, whereby they slashed their dividends for the first time since the Great Depression.

Nevertheless, GE is doing much better in present years, whereby the company is now cash-rich. And according to GE, the company has disclosed that they will be raising their quarterly dividend by 20 percent.

GE’s CEO Jeff Immelt has mentioned that the company continues to experience strong cash generation, and hence they are now able to raise the dividends that would be paid to their stock holders.
