Qualcomm certainly made a statement with their Snapdragon processors, whereby these processors are embedded onto high-end smartphones in the current market. And with Qualcomm scoring tremendous success over these microprocessors, the company wants to extend their lead, whereby they have announced an upcoming dual-core processor that would be based on the 28nm architecture.
Basically, the 28nm dual-core MSM8960 system-on-a-chip boasts a 5-time performance, and surprisingly, it consumes 75 percent less power than its original Snapdragon processor. On the other hand, the entire architecture would also be outfitted with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and FM radioi too. Well Qualcomm is planning to ship the microprocessors sometime in 2011.
